AIs writers

We comment on the performance of AIs in the creation of texts

I don't want to speak badly about artificial intelligence, because I know that it is still a developing technology and that there are many people behind it trying to improve it every day.

I like this technology, I also trust in its potential, I am interested in seeing how much it evolves. But it is logical that although there are many things that AIs can do faster than a human being, at least today, there are others that need the patience and time that a person dedicates to them so that they can flourish.

Perhaps it may be contradictory that after opening this space to recognize digital artists who work with AIs, I write an article in which I will have to mention that, at least for the moment, I do not feel satisfied with the performance of AIs in regards to the elaboration of artistic texts.

As you may have noticed, I'm not really a great writer. Although I dedicate myself to writing technical reports, I do not have much experience in journalistic or critical writing.

Because of this... when starting to interact with the main AI engines, I wanted to try each and every one of its features, but the artistic writing seemed very gray to me.

I'm not talking about it being unoriginal, it's missing a component that to this day he is only human, he lacks imagination. And I am not referring to a magical source of inspiration that makes us creative, but to the process of imagining the path, imagining the destination and how to unite them.

My disagreement arises because, when asking an artificial intelligence to help me write a horror story...

The result is more than disappointing. And I understand, an AI engine can understand what it means, fear, anguish, uncertainty.

But you cannot experience it, and if you have not experienced something, you could hardly reproduce it convincingly.

Unfortunately it is not a unique case, because I tried the same with fantasy stories or fables

"Redundant" would be the way I would describe it. Stories that do not advance, repetition of situations and a setting that is too basic are, among other things, what I could notice about this experience.

I didn't just try ChatGPT 4. I know there are other engines based on the same architecture but trained in a different way, but the problem doesn't go away.

I heard of several pages that have as their slogan; be undetectable like AIs and can pass for real writers, but what I found is quite generic. The clichés they use are so noticeable and stacked on top of each other that you immediately notice them.

But the cliché is not the bad thing, (many writers use the cliché as a basis to tell a story inspired by some recurring theme such as zombies) the real problem is the rhythm.

Plots that start very slowly, characters without development, cyclical journeys that go nowhere, but at the minimum progress everything is resolved with a metaphor or supposed teaching and that's it, we reach the end of our journey.

However, I have no complaints about their performance in an informative article or in an academic essay, they are very complete and even professional, without a doubt they are works of very good quality.
