I propose as a topic the situation about censorship in digital art.

Important: I need to mention that this will be the first of 3 parts in which this article will be divided to focus on:

-Praising a situation.

-listening to opinions from other digital artists.

-And give a final verdict.

First of all, I don't agree with censorship, and much less in a subject like art. Here everything is subjective, so limiting creativity is not something I would do.

However this time I ask for your opinion and personal experiences regarding content creation with AIs.

Although there are engines that stand out more than others in terms of relevance and number of users

(although for the moment I will not mention any of them to avoid misunderstanding), they all have some level of oversight.

While for most people it is normal to think of censorship in sexual matters, references to violence or religious ideologies.

Sometimes I have found that Ais have problems to create other types of content, sometimes as simple as refusing to represent a simple kiss or consider offensive some ethnic representations.

The strangest thing of all is that apparently, this is not a constant, because one moment we can have problems with a combination of prompts that are misinterpreted by including words like “black dog”, the next we can receive an image of total nudity for having added prompts as a "full body shot".

We could even assume that this is not censorship, but a simple confusion of artificial intelligence engines when interpreting the words, but this is not so, in fact in a couple of engines that I had the opportunity to test, it is very common to receive notifications indicating that the content was blocked for being inappropriate or handling sensitive topics.

But maybe your experience is different from mine, please leave me a comment with a situation that has happened to you or if you have never had problems with censorship in this activity.

Here is a small form to receive your points of view. All comments and opinions will be taken into account for the continuation of this article.

Next week I will have the second part of this publication to follow commenting on the subject.

See you then.
