How do artists suffer from it?

All artists face, at least once in their lives, moments when inspiration does not flow as strongly as usual.

From the composer searching for that special missing tune to create a melody, to the photographer repeating the same shots over and over again to get that right angle to bring out the beauty of his model or landscape.

At least in reference to all of us who, in one way or another, work using imagination or creativity as raw material, I believe that no one is unfamiliar with that unpleasant feeling that suddenly overwhelms us, that feeling that makes us lose our way when we don't know what the next step is to continue in one of our projects.

Of course, it can also occur in some professional sectors such as marketing for example, but in the same manner this type of condition causes the train of thought to stop.

It's obvious, because staying innovative and cutting-edge is quite a complicated and sometimes exhausting task when your job depends on it.

We all have our own source of inspiration, I mean; you might get your ideas directly from your favorite music, maybe from spending some time enjoying your preferred TV series, some might even boost their creativity with surreal stories from their own dreams.

There are some virtuosos whose inspiration is a natural talent; these special cases possess a considerably more productive artistic sensitivity or appreciation.

Unfortunately, imagination is not like a water tap where you can turn it on or off at your convenience, in fact it is more like a trance, a state of positive altered state that could present itself unexpectedly.

Logically, the most convenient thing to do would be to take advantage of that moment to start creating, but it is not as easy as that and it is most likely that the time we dedicate to art does not coincide with your moments of motivation.

Therefore, with this article I intend to start a research with the aim of consulting with digital artists, collecting some of their personal experiences, opinions, possible causes and ideas to overcome this complicated situation.

Maybe this has happened to you at some point, or it could be happening to you right now, so I will try to gather some useful information that you can put into practice.

It's always nice to have a second or third point of view so I'll take this as an opportunity for us to support each other.

As soon as I have enough data I will come back with the second part of this article, in which we will focus on the experiences that other creators have had along their journey through this interesting activity.
